Prelude was a major curated group exhibition held from March 31 to April 18, 2026,  at Australian Galleries, located at 28 Derby Street, Collingwood.

Australian Galleries is detouring from its typical brand with an upcoming exhibition, Prelude. AG is now shining a light on the upcoming creators who stand on these legends’ shoulders in its 70th year since its establishment. Prelude is the gallery’s first-ever open-call exhibition. Targeted at emerging artists, it aims to remove some of the many barriers faced by early-career practitioners today. The dynamic curated exhibition marks the formative stages of their careers and situates a new generation within the same spaces that have long showcased many of the country’s leading contemporary artists.
